Building Materials Needed for New Kennel

GLWR is building a new Kennel to increase our ability to house and care for all the Weimaraners that come into our rescue. We are in need of the following building materials.  If you can donate any of the items listed, please contact donations@greatlakesweimrescue.com and specify 'Kennel Building Materials Donation'.

 

  • 25 - 4X8 Sheets of Mar Light paneling

  • 2 - 24" Exhaust Fans

  • 2 - Insulated 36"X72" doors

  • 1 - 24'X24" window

  • 20' of Heating ductwork

  • 20 - 2X4X8 Good grade

  • 6 - 2X6X10 Good grade

  • 2 - garage floor epoxy cement sealing kits, gray

  • 1 - case of white silicone caulking

  • 2 - rolls of vapor barrier

  • 5 lbs of #10 common nails

  • 1 - 200 amp entrance box (same brand as breakers)

  • 1 - 100' foil of W-3 insulated electrical wire

  • 2 - 4X8X3/4" plywood

  • 10 - 15 amp breakers (same brand as entrance box)

  • 5 - 48" Dual florescent ceiling light units

  • 1 - 20 gallon stainless steel sink with stand and faucets

  • 1 - 40 gallon L.P. gas hot water heater

  • $400 for misc. items.

Daily cleaning Items...

  • Laundry soap (liquid preferred... but will use anything available)

  • Bleach

  • Pine Sol (any scent)

  • Novalsan Viracide - for disinfecting and stopping cross contamination from sick animals (can purchase at TSC or other farm type stores)

  • Paper towels

  • Throw rugs with rubber backing - any color or pattern (30" x 50" size preferred)

  • Odoban (from Sam's Club)

  • 45-55 gal. heavy duty trash bags (for yard pooper scooper pick up)

Kennel Items.....

  • Bath sized towels

  • Midwest wire crate pans (42" needed the most...other size needed 48")

  • Flat back 2 quart stainless water buckets

  • Dog pillows ( for on the floor)

Donate A Bed

Donate a BedWe like to use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.

Dog Items...

  • Martingale nylon collars

  • Leashes - 4' & 6'

  • Standard nylon collars with plastic snaps (everyone must wear a different color to help with identification for the poor souls that volunteer to help)

  • Rawhides (chips, bones, twists, etc.)

  • Canned dog food (Pedigree (preferred) or better ...sorry cannot use Alpo or Old Roy brand...gives the dogs loose stools)

  • Coupons for Pedigree canned dog food

  • Dog treats

  • Heavy Duty dog toys (kongs, large ropes, etc.)

Medical Items....

  • Make up pads (for cleaning ears)

  • Q-tips

  • Ear cleaning solution

  • Hydrogen peroxide

  • Triple antibiotic (ointment or spray)

  • Vetwrap

  • Cotton batting for wound care

  • Betadyne Solution

 

Really Big Items & other...

  • Van (extended cargo type) for transports & vet visits

  • Pre-paid fuel cards (for transporting to vet & pick ups)

  • Gift Cards to Meijer, Pet Stores, Gas Cards

  • Heavy Duty Washer (front loading would be great)

  • Heavy Duty Gas dryer

  • Outdoor wire dog kennels/runs (5-6 ft high)

  • Midwest wire crates (42" preferred or 48")

  • 2' x 10' oak fence boards

  • 60" high chain link fencing & posts

  • Donated items for re-sale to raise funds (photo frames, books, doggie related items, etc.)
