This page is dedicated to those dear to us. They will always live on in our hearts.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...
CHARLIE
What a
great guy Charlie was and always will be.
Even though Charlie’s time with us was way too short,
He left
footprints deep into our hearts and he is missed
So very much!
Born June of 2003
Died April 4, 2008
In our Hearts forever,
Sue Kayla, Ray,
In Memory of Dick and Rocky,
He was a wonderful companion after Dick died. I don't think any dog ever slept closer to me. He is REALLY missed. I checked his papers & this great dog was going to be 15 in April.
I am very grateful to him for leaving me on his terms when he was ready. I did not want to make that decision for him.
Thank you for rescuing him. I know he had a good time while he was here. I think he stuck around for me, to help me get through the first year without Dick.
Good bye good friend, say hello to Dick.
Deb
Dear Cloud,
"When we truly love a human and know that they love us in return, an energetic link bonds us forever. This love becomes a kind of cord connecting us to our person (s).
This cord is not even severed in death. Our souls will be linked forever." ......(from Conversations with Dogs) The Rainbow Bridge is aglow from the light of all our candles, helping you find your way, lighting your path.....You'll always have a place in our hearts.
God Speed Pretty Lady

A candle has been lit, to help Witte find his way across the rainbow bridge. Witte began his journey at the beginning of Feb, 2007.
From his loving owner, Zach, just day's before:
I would just like to say thank you for the gift you gave me. I've had
Witte for almost exactly one year. He has been the best puppy (ok, he is
7-8, but will always be my "puppy") He has been the best companion
someone could ask for; always ready for a run/walk, forest exploration,
tennis ball match, swim in the lake, camping trip, etc, and always
minded his manners.
Unfortunately we have not been feeling well lately. We were at the Dr's
office today to have a liver biopsy done, which was not performed,
having instead found that he is already in the advanced stages of
cancer affecting several major organs. There is nothing left that can
be done medically, besides keeping him comfortable. I have taken him
home for the time being, but the Vet estimates that it will be
days/weeks before he crosses the rainbow bridge, or we will need to
help him over. He is a real trooper though, not ever showing any signs
of pain or discomfort, and "daddy" is pampering him in his time left.
I just wanted to thank you and the entire organization again for
allowing me to have such a wonderful companion. You can truly judge how
much someone means to you by the number of tears you shed for them.
Dear GLWR,
On behalf of my family, I want to let you know that your organization is very much appreciated. We recently lost our 8-1/2 year old Weimaraner "Jimmy" to cancer.
Roughly 9 months ago he was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Jimmy was such a special dog and he had such a wonderful personality. We treated his cancer with chemotherapy and did everything possible for him, not missing a treatment or an appointment. Unfortunately the cancer went into his nervous system and there was nothing else we could do.
We knew there would come a time we would have to say goodbye, but we never knew how difficult that time would be. It was the most heart-breaking experience in our lives. Thankfully we have another Weimaraner "Lucky" that we rescued 7 years ago to ease our loss.
It has been a month and we finally had the opportunity to go through all of his toys and other household items that your organization may need. In his memory we are pleased to donate these items to other needy Weimaraner at your shelter.
Thank You for your generosity. Please know that we are saddened by your loss. We dedicate this memorial in memory of your beloved Jimmy. Candles are lit, in his name, to light his path & guide him to the rainbow bridge.
Sincerely, The GLWR community
Candle's have been lit through-out the GLWR community, to help gentle Nickel on his way across the rainbow bridge.
In memory of Slater who crossed the Rainbow Bridge, August, 2007.
Slater will always be a puppy across the Rainbow Bridge.
