Addy
My foster brother Newt and I get along great. I am very submissive, and I always roll on my back and let him take charge. My foster mom has gotten pretty attached, but she is sure I will make some family so happy that she is not going to keep me. Besides, she wants to be able to keep helping other grey brothers and sisters that need a home while they are waiting to find their forever family. I do well in a crate, but whine a little just at first. I am not going to be too big, I am only about 40 lbs now and I don’t think Ill get too much bigger.
I am adorable, charming, and very well behaved. Do you think you
have a place for me in your heart and home! |
Andi
![]() ** Adoption Pending!
We are getting the right stuff to eat and lots of fresh water. My foster momma is taking us to the vet for our shots and check ups. Me and sis are doing well. I will be spayed on June 3rd and after my recovery I will be looking forward to a long life with a loving forever family. As my sister said we are like adding a new child to your family.
I am a happy girl and love to run and play. I am a little more independent that Josi. We are both doing well, learning our house manners and having a good time too. I sleep all night in my crate with my sister (my sister snores, but don't tell her I told you that).
Love to all, Andi |

Autumn
![]() ** Adoption Pending! Hello, my name is Autumn. I am a 3 year old female Weimaraner. I was given up by my previous owners because they no longer had time for me. ):
I am a shy girl, and I take a bit to warm up. But once you just leave me be, I will make my way to you. And then I am your best friend. I enjoy human company over K-9 company. I would much rather curl up with my foster mom then play with the other K-9's. I am a bit on the smaller side, and have been told I am quite pretty.
I hope to find a forever home soon so that I can get settled in with my new humans and enjoy the rest of my life knowing then I am home for good.
Best Wishes, Autumn Back to Top |
Benson
Hi all! My name is Benson. I am a 3 yr old active male Weim. I’m hangin’ out with my new foster family in Wisconsin. I was a surrender from Ohio and I’m looking to find a great forever home.
Just for the record, I was surrendered because my old family didn’t have time for me. I just love kids, cats and most other dogs. I’m pretty smart too. I know how to sit, shake hands and lay down. I really love to go for long walks and play with other dogs at the dog park. I also love to hang out and lay around on the couch… if there’s enough room for me! I have a very outgoing personality and am very social. I pretty much roam freely without any problems. I do like to lay in my crate once in awhile so, my foster parents leave it open for me in our bedroom.
Well, I hear my foster mom calling so I better get going! I’d really like to be a permanent part of a family. Please fill out an adoption application with GLWR so maybe you can be my forever family! Gotta go!
Your Faithful Friend, Benson |

BLUE is a 3 year old silver Weimaraner. He is neutered male, approximately 75# with amber eyes and even has a cowlick on his neck. He is up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. His owners work all day and he is being left for long periods of time which is unacceptable to Blue. BLUE is housebroken and will stay in the crate but only for short periods of time before becoming anxious and disruptive. Blue does not jump on people, the furniture or countertops. He does not chew on household items. He is somewhat shy and submissive; not overly active.
He would be a great dog for a stay at home mom with small children. BLUE does not like taking a bath, being left alone for long periods of time or going for car rides (the car makes him sick). Although he has had no formal training, he does enjoy going for walks and prances nicely on his leash without pulling. He currently knows heel, come and sit. He likes to play chase with the other dogs and loves being with his people. BLUE is good with other dogs and even cats.
BLUE suffers from seizures. He has only had a few but the vet checked him out and can not find a cause. He is currently not on any anti-seizure medication. If you are interested in this sweet boy, you must first go to our website and fill out an application and be interviewed. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.
The applicant with the most to offer Blue will be our first choice. See Petfinders for more information on Blue.

BrincenHello there, my name is Brincen. I am a 3 year old neutered male Weimaraner. My foster family thinks that I am great! I aim to please and listen well to my humans.
I am a handsome guy, no doubt about that. I would do best in a family with no small children. I am excellent in the car, and love to ride. My foster mom says I have very soulful eyes. I guess that means when she looks at me you can see how badly I want a forever family.
I am a very intelligent Weim, so a Weim savvy family would make a nice fit for me. I get along just fine with other K-9's and enjoying playing with them.
I hope that my forever family comes very soon. Peace, Brincen

ButtonsOh hi all, my name is Buttons. I am a 3 year old spayed female Weimaraner. I am a little shy, but once you get to know me, well I am as cute as a button.

Cedar**Adoption Pending! Hello my name is Cedar I am a 2 year old mellow female Weimaraner. My foster Mom calls me a diamond in the ruff. I guess because my previous owners left me outside and my hair became sun bleached, dry, and brittle. Mom has been giving me vitamins with a little olive oil in my food and already my hair is super soft, but it will take time for the rest of my grey coat to come completely back in. So for now I have blond high-lights... humans pay big money for that...
I get along great with my three fur foster sisters, and my three human brothers and sister. I am not much of a barker, I like our neighbors and behave well with the two little dogs next door. Oh and I like cats! My Mom keeps telling me what a good girl I am and that the family who chooses me will never regret it.
Yaaawnnn its time for my dog nap, gonna cuddle with my sisters.
bye for now hope to hear from you soon.... Cedar |
Clooney
Hi, my name is Clooney. I am a neutered 2 year old male Weimaraner. Sadly, my parents got a divorce and my Dad could not keep me. I miss him, but I know I will find a wonderful family that will keep me forever.
I get along with other k-9's just dandy and like to play. I like to go for walks and enjoy being with my humans. Please consider adopting me or any of my friends here at Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue.
Love, Clooney

ChancelorHi Everyone, Chancelor here. Who says us middle age dudes can't run with the pups? They sure didn't know me and my card playing friends.
I am a 7 year young male Weimaraner and am truly interested in finding you a best bud. And that best bud would be me or one of my friends here at Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue.
I mind my manners pretty well, I make friends quite easily and well I just want to find my best buddy. Ok, I wrote, now it is your turn.
See ya soon! Chancelor |
CharleeOh hi my name is Charlee! And I am an eleven month old male Weimaraner. Sniff, sniff, sniff, do I smell cookies?? Anyway, I am a pretty good guy, but I will need obedience training pronto, ok? I am a smart dude, no worries there. Just need to learn some manners and to listen with both ears.
Sniff, sniff, sniff, do you smell cookies? Oh well never mind, as I was saying........hey, obedience training, love, forever home. Yep, that is what this young boy needs. Can you offer that to me and don't forget I wanna be a member of the family forever.
Sniff, sniff, sniff is somebody eating????
See ya soon, Charlee |
ChloeGood day, my name is Chloe. I am an 8 year young female Weimaraner. As you can see from my photo shoot, I have a great smile. I won't mind being your only k-9, those crazy furkids can be a bit pushy and I, being the refined lady that I am, don't care for that type of behavior. But I suppose the right brother or sister might work fine. I do enjoy a nice stroll along the beach or sidewalk.
If yours is a home that might fit my needs, please give Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue my name. I will then interview you.
Yours Truly, Chloe |
Ditto**Adoption Pending! Hello new family!!! I'm Ditto, and I am a wonderful female Weim of just 1 1/2. My foster mom says that I am such a smart girl. I am well behaved too. I don't get on the couch or in your bed unless you ask me to.
I use my crate when asked and only cry for a minute to let you know that I miss you already. I have a big brother here and he is 2 1/2 and I love to play with him. Did I say he has two legs, cause he does. Mom says that we fight over balls just like real brothers do. I almost always let him win.
I get along with my k-9 brother too, as for my feline sister, well, I like chase her. I love to play in the water, I will stick my whole head in and blow bubbles. I would like to think it is just one of my many great Weim characteristics. Well, my brothers got a ball, gotta run!
Hope to meet you soon, Love, hugs, and kisses, Ditto. |
DukeYo Duke here. I am a blue male Weimaraner. As you can see from my picture, I am a solid dude and could use a walk or two a day. I love humans, but sometimes get a little carried away and don't remember my manners.
On the subject of manners I definitely would benefit from some obedience training. I am 3 years old, so I have plenty of time to learn. I would be too much for a family with small children. I just don't know my strength and could knock over a small child accidentally.
If you are looking for a dude that could use some fine tuning and some exercise, well I might be a good dude for you.
Call me, DUKE |

FredFred here, how are you? I am great. I am a fun lovin' 10 month old pup and I am looking for a home to call my own! I am full of energy and surrrrreee could use some obedience training.
Yep, so far life has been fun, fun, fun. And then a little more fun. But I am hearing that it is time for this boy to settle down a tad and learn some manners. I think I would be good at that. But I just need the right human to teach me everything I need to know. You know it will take time and patience, but I bet I would make you real proud.
So please contact GLWR as soon as you can, ok? We need ya!! Oh yea, sorry for stickin' my tongue out in my picture. See what I mean? I just need to learn some manners!
Love, Fred
|
GingerOh hello, Ginger here. Did you meet my brother Fred? Yes, yes, we are 2 of a kind. All about the fun. I am 10 months old and just a blast to be around, well sort of.
I, like Fred, need some obedience training. I am sure I would do well in class, but no one ever has taken the time to teach me. I would really love to meet you. I so want to be a part of a FOREVER family!!
Love ya', Ginger

Jax**Adoption Pending! Hi my friend, my name is Jax. I am a 10 month old blue male Weimaraner. Even though I am big in size, I am still a pup, so I will need obedience training, patience, and love. I am young and ready to start learning, I just need a family to help me.
I am a handsome fella, no doubt about it. You can't help but smile when you see me. I am a Weimaraner so I will need daily walks and/or a good game of fetch in my back yard to burn off some of my energy.
If you are interested in learning more about me or any of my friends please email Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue.
Hugs and Kisses, JAX |

Josi
Hi everyone, my name is Josi. I am a 5 month old female Weimie. My sister, Andi and I came into rescue along with our parents. I am a sweet girl and looking forward to a promising future with a family that understands having a Weim is like adding another child. We consider ourselves part of the family and will do our best to please you as long as you give us the direction we need.
My foster momma has told me that I will be having an operation called a spay on June 3rd. This will make it so I can not have puppies. This is the right thing to do my momma says because there are so many of us that need homes that are already on this earth.
I love to play, and enjoy running in the backyard with the other pups. I know my name pretty well and am willing to learn more. I sleep all night in a crate with my sister (she snores, but don't tell her I told you that).
Love to all! Josi

KelcieI am Kelcie and I am a super cute, sassy, fun lil weimie gal who would love to join your family! I am 12 weeks old and my brother Noah and I are fostered in Stevens Point, WI.
Haven't met anyone I don't love, I love to play with other k9's, I am polite to kitties and love kids but I think it's fun to jump on them sometimes. I am very photogenic can't you tell! I am an out-going and curious gal, not shy at all, and always checkin out my environment. My foster mom says I will be great for an active family who would take me to exercise and socialize. I really love other k9's, so I would love to have a new brother or sister to live with too.
My foster mom says I am super smart because I have already learned to 'sit'- sheesh, that was easy! What do you say? Can I be a new member of your family? Kelcie

KerrieGood day, my name is Kerrie. I am a 12 year young spayed female Weimaraner. I was graciously welcomed into Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue after being emancipated and in poor condition. I had not had a good meal in a very long time. As you can see from my photos I look great now and am ready to find a loving family. Many humans tell me I have beautiful eyes. And I really appreciate the nice comments.
I listen well and love to be with humans. I would love to find a home, I am good company and would am very interested in meeting you.. Love, Kerrie

LanceHi everyone, my name is Lance. And I am a male 12 week old pup looking to find my forever home. I am a good pup, and my mom says "we like Lance-a-lot"! Isn't that funny? I am working on being house trained, and I do know my name. I sleep in my crate at night with my sister, Sprinkles.
If you are considering a pup like me, please remember I want my home to last forever, and ever. I want to be part of the family and have a family to take me to obedience training. I will make you so proud, promise.
Love and Hugs, Lance
|
LukeHello my friends, my name is Luke. I am a blue male Weimaraner. I am 7 years young and am looking forward to starting a fresh new life with a new family. I get along well with other k-9's, but most of all I love humans.
I came into rescue from a shelter. I was quite thin when my friends from Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue picked me up, but little by little I am putting on weight and getting back to what I should be.
Anyway, no sense dwellin' on the past, I am ready to start new, maybe with you?
Sincerely, LUKE

MajorGreetings everyone, my name is Major. I am a handsome 4 year old blue Weimaraner. There are lots interesting things to know about me, because I march to a different drummer.
I will need a family that enjoys a fun k-9. I enjoy looking up at things, if you have something in the closet on the top shelf, I will see it. And I will not forget that stuffed animal is there or that funny shaped what-cha-ma-call-it is on the top of the refrigerator. If a flicker of light from a flashlight comes along I will chase it. If there is no place left on the coach to sit, I will sit on the back or the arm of the coach. I love to snuggle at night and would love to sleep with you. I do not like to be crated, too confining for me because I need to be able to look around and investigate. I do like other k-9's but get my feelings hurt quickly if another k-9 doesn't understand my inquisitiveness and puts me in my place. I will cry like a baby, because even though I am 4 I feel much more like a puppy. I am an interesting fella, no doubt about it. And wouldn't the world be boring if we all were alike?
Well off I go I see something on the ceiling.
Best Regards, Major |
MarioSo, Mario here. I am a handsome 12 week old male Weim at GLWR. My foster dad says that I am such a lover. I like to sneak cuddles in whenever my sister isn't looking :) She thinks she is so smart. I love to play with my sister Peaches. Maybe you've seen her? It is alot of fun to take her toy away. Don't tell her, but most of the time I really don't even want it, I just don't want HER to have it.
I am little and really cute right now but everyone says that I am going to be big. So, if your interested in meeting me give GLWR a call.
Peace out! Mario |
MaxMy name is max and I am 7yrs old but very young at heart. I am a pretty tall boy, but very gentle. I absolutely love my people and get very attached very quickly. I love to cuddle and lay on my foster Mom and Dad. I will sit with you all day long. I like to play and exercise, but my favorite thing to do is be with my family....sitting as close as possible!
I am good with other dogs, and very gentle with children…although like most weimies I am not aware of how large I am, and occasionally may knock a little one over by accident. I do have a little problem with counter surfing. I have been doing it for a very long time so it might take a bit of work to break me of this bad habit. Just yesterday I ate a loaf of bread that my foster parents forgot to put up. Oops!
I am a great communicator and always let you know when I want something. I bark when I am hungry, or when I have to go out. I would really really love to have my own family to love and snuggle.
Do you think it might be you? Max

MerlinHi new family! Merlin here! I am a neutered male Weimaraner with a special somethin'! A tail! That is right, a cute long tail. I have a beautiful white marking on my chest. And I am about 1 year old. My life has not always been fun. I came to Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue heart worm positive. I have now been through treatment and have a clean bill of health.
I am very thankful that my friends here at GLWR helped me through the treatments and I am looking forward to meeting you, new family! I will need obedience training and some patience, but I promise to try to be the best Weim for you.
Thanks for reading about me, see ya soon! Merlin |
NoahHowdy there- I am Noah- on the prowl and looking for my new forever family, is it you? I am 12 weeks old, and my sister Kelcie and I are fostered in Stevens Point, WI.
I am a mello, easy-going fellow....quite calm compared to my siblings! My favorite past-times are chewing bones, playing in the water, and sometimes I get the 'zoomies' and love to just run and chase around the yard. I know...I'm cute! I do like other k9's, and I made friends with some kitties too. I often like to go off on my own and chew a bone, so my foster mom says I could live with other k9's or by myself.
I am calm and good around kids (so they say because I don't jump on them at all and I don't mouth much either!). I LOVE food and will do just about anything for a nice treat.
Call GLWR right away and bring me home so I can share my puppyhood with my new forever family! Woof!! Love, Noah
|
PeachesHi, my name is Peaches and I am just as sweet as can be. I am about 12 weeks old and one of six at GLWR. My foster mom says that I am really smart. I will play with a toy and my big goofy brother will run up and take it from me. I will chase him for a minute, make him think he won, and then I go get the toy I really wanted while he is distracted.
What can I say girls rule and boys drool.
So if you are interested in meeting me or any of my brothers or sisters, give GLWR a call.
See you soon! Peaches

RoxyHello my name is Roxy. I am a 2 year old female Weimaraner. I have a colic on my neck, that is rather cute. When I first came into rescue, I was crated and I hated it! I did not do well in a crate. But now my foster mom puts me in a kennel run when I go out and I love it! Crating is not for me and I am a happier girl now that I am not crated.
I am an interesting girl and would love to talk to you more about me. So please shoot GLWR an email about me or any of my friends.
Let's talk. Sincerely, Roxy |

Scooby** Adoption Pending! Oh hi, I know you have seen me here for quite some time. My name is Scooby, and I am going on 4 years old. I have been waiting and waiting for the right family, but so far no luck.
I kind of had a reputation for being a bit of a stinker. When my foster mom would go away, I would try and climb out the window! Well, funny thing I tried that trick one too many times, and well you guessed it I broke my leg! I had to have a rod put in my leg and I was on the mends for a bit.
Before that my friends at GLWR had me treated for heart worms! I came into rescue heart worm positive. I have a clean slate now, and I am very happy about that.
But anyway gettin' back to that broken leg. Well, I may have learned my lesson. Cuz my foster mom says I sure am a much more mellow fellow now. It kind of made me think, "is it really such a good idea to freak out every time my foster mom leaves and climb up on stuff?" That really gets a guy to thinkin' when you end up breaking a leg or something worse!
I am a good lookin' guy and like other k-9's, but no cats for me please. Hope to hear from my forever family soon.
Peace, Scooby

Skylar
Good day to everyone, my name is Skylar. I am 1 1/2 years old male
and was found as a stray. My owner was located, but could not afford
the impound fees so he gave me up to the shelter
My friends at GLWR came to my rescue and I am now neutered and UTD on my vaccines and looking for my forever home. I do like other K-9's and play well with them.
I like people too, but as you might guess I need some training because I am a youngster. Obedience training is a good way for me to bond to my new family too. I am a bit on the rambunctious side, so I would probably not be good for small children. I do use a kennel, will sometimes bark to protest, but normally quiet down after a bit.
I think I would like to live with another K-9 because I enjoy their company. Hope to hear from my forever family soon. Sincerely, Skylar

Sprinkles
Hi to my new family! Sprinkles here! I am a 12 week old female Weimie. I am the smallest of the litter of 6, but don't let that fool ya. I keep up with the big guys, no problem.
I am wishing on a star that my forever family finds me soon. Like my brother Lance said, we are looking for homes to call our own FOREVER.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Sprinkle

Find a loving home so Right!

WillowHello my name is Willow. I am an 8 year old spayed female Weim. Yes, I know, I hardly look a day over 5.
I am an owner surrender due to a new baby in the house. You see, I was the baby for many years and it was hard for me to adjust to not being the baby. So I am looking for a home with no small children.
I am in good shape, and have been told that I am quite a looker (blush.... just a little). I would make someone a nice companion. Possibly, you?
Please write an email to GLWR about me or my friends. We will get right back to you.
Sincerely, Willow |
